Business of The Year Nominee
Thank you to the people of the City Of Brentwood that nominated us for Business of the Year.
All of your kind words that you shared of why you felt that we were deserving of this award, means more than anything.
Our goal over 6 years ago, when Sal and I opened Chill, was to make sure we gave back to the community that supports us so much. So to hear that our efforts are felt is the most rewarding part of it all.
It’s not like us to talk about what we do or have done for the community or individuals.
This was definitely something new for us,
Because If you know us we believe the gift is in the giving and we just put our heads down and work.
Sal and I have always made it our goal to provide a space, where the people in our community feel safe and welcomed and that would need to come from not only us, but our entire team.
So I want to thank our team too.
Our team cares about our customers just as much as Sal and I do and we couldn’t be any prouder of that.
Helping is not only during huge fundraisers or big events we do.
It’s EVERY DAY, it’s EVERY CONVERSATION, it’s connecting with EVERY person that walks through our doors. It’s about doing good EVERY DAY.
You never know what you can do for someone if it’s uplifting them, sharing exciting news, being a shoulder to cry on or someone to share a laugh with.
We do not take the blessing of having a small business for granted. It is an opportunity for us to give back and that’s what we will continue to do.
CONGRATS to all the nominees and winners!!!
Better In Brentwood - Dining Spotlight

Flavors from Around the World, at Your Fingertips
Yvette and Sal opened their first Chill Tea & Coffee location in Brentwood by Vic Stewart’s in May 2017, offering freshly roasted coffees from around the world, an amazing selection of teas, and a wide assortment of pastries to pair perfectly with your cup of choice. Chill quickly gained a loyal customer base who appreciated the time, effort, and flavor that only Yvette and Sal could provide. The two did so well that they decided to spread the love, opening a downtown Antioch location in December 2020 and then a second Brentwood location in October 2021 in The Streets of Brentwood. “We live here in Brentwood and proudly serve our neighbors and community,” said Yvette. “Our customers like what we offer, how we provide our service, and what we stand for as a company, so now we make it easier for more people to enjoy what we do in multiple locations within town.”

BRENTWOOD - OAKLEY - DISCOVERY BAY - ANTIOCH
On Dec. 15, Yvette Gomez, owner of Chill Tea & Coffee, and her staff presented Briana Taylor of the American Red Cross with a donation check for the fire victims of Butte County.
Donations collected at the shop, donated tips from the staff and proceeds from Chill’s own “Jasper Cocoa” offered at the Brentwood’s holiday parade came out to $1,400.
A special thanks goes out to Captain Robert Ruddick and East Contra Costa Fire Protection District (ECCFPD) Fire Board President Brian Oftedal who helped coordinate and connect Chill Tea and Coffee with the American Red Cross. The team would also like to recognize Iliana, Gabby, Alex and Rebecca (Chill staff) who were generous in volunteering their time and contributing toward this donation.
“We have the best customers here at Chill,” said owner Yvette Gomez. “And we’re happy to report that their generosity will go to a good cause.”
